Blossoming Joy

A flower blossoms for its own joy.
– Oscar Wilde

In the midst of a long Winter, never forget it’s only a season. The promise of Spring lies just beneath the dormant earth. As we wait for the sun’s warmth to return and the flowers to emerge from a deep slumber, we can blossom our own joy by moving through our days more mindfully. Relish the sound of the frosty-tipped grass crunching under your boots. The way the cool air rejuvenates your skin. The way the sun seems to shine extra bright when the ground is covered in a white blanket of snow. The way you can see your  breaths in the air. The crackle of a fire in your wood stove. A hot cup of coffee on a cold, gray morning. A dog snoring on the hearth rug. Savor these more restful moments. Let them nourish you so that you greet the Spring as a renewed being; mind, body and spirit.
